1997 Shiraz, Ingleburne Estate

This McLaren Shiraz was drunk with some juicy burgers a couple of weeks ago.

1997 Shiraz, Ingleburne Estate
An open, warm but not overly so, nose with yummy notes of plums, asphalt, sugared coffee, star anise and licorice. A fine depth with some maturity. Bonfire scents and meat stock with some time in the glass. Very good.
The taste is structured and rich with notes of Finnish licorice, ripe blueberries, warm gravel and some dark mint. A long, warm, round finish with still a nice bite to it. Mature, yes, but this could be kept for another 5+ years. Went perfectly with the grilled burgers.
