2023 Chinon Le Puy, Jean-Marie Raffault
On the third day I really liked this wine. Then it displayed a finely tuned, herbal nose with additional notes of iron, blueberries and hint of bell pepper. Before it had a barnyardy, wet dog note that was lying over the fruit.
The taste also became fresher with air with notes of blueberries, gravel, fried herbs and undergrowth. Silky tannins. Very, very good, but open and decant it in time.
90p (tasted 2026/03)
